For us, sustainability is not a one-off project, but an ongoing process of development. At our site in Gescher, we are constantly investing in technology, buildings and processes in order to make our operations more efficient and use resources responsibly.
A key element of this is the expansion of our photovoltaic system. The extension, due in 2025, will increase our annual electricity generation to around 3.15 million kWh. With our own electricity consumption at around 1.2 million kWh per year, we will be able to meet a large proportion of our energy needs ourselves. Thanks to a storage capacity of 800 kWh, the energy generated is utilised particularly efficiently. This enables us to save around 2,164 tonnes of CO₂ annually – which is equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of around 150,000 trees.
We are also continuously developing our infrastructure. Investments in buildings and technology help to optimise processes and utilise resources more effectively. These include, amongst other things, the expansion of our office space with a new head office, the refurbishment of roof and floor areas, and investments in machinery and logistics.
Another step towards the future is the expansion of our electric mobility. With electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, we are promoting modern, lower-emission mobility in our day-to-day working lives.
In the digital sphere, too, we are focusing on efficiency and further development. The switch to cloud-based systems, the introduction of Microsoft 365 and the ongoing digitalisation of internal processes are helping us to streamline workflows and conserve resources.
For us, our commitment to the region is more than just support – it is a matter close to our hearts. As a family-run business, we have had close ties with Gescher, the region and the people here for more than 75 years. Many of our employees began their training with us and have remained loyal to us right through to their well-deserved retirement. These long-standing relationships shape our corporate culture and strengthen our roots in the local community. That is why we want to give something back to the community that has stood by us and supported us for generations.
A particular focus is our partnership with Gescher Comprehensive School. As a partner company, we support the school in various activities and projects. It is important to us to give young people an early insight into the world of work, to encourage them and to show them prospects for their future. The exchange between the school and the company is a key element of this for us.
Another key aspect of our commitment is our close ties with SV Gescher, which we support as a premium sponsor. The club embodies team spirit, passion and solidarity – values that also shape the way we work together every day.
In addition, we are involved in social projects that bring people together and highlight social issues. These include, amongst others, the Superheldenfabrik and the Zeitgeist project, which, in different ways, provide inspiration, inspire enthusiasm and encourage reflection.
Numerous other clubs and initiatives are also close to our hearts. Whether it’s the fire brigade, the DLRG, holiday camps or support associations – we provide support wherever local commitment is shown and community spirit is actively practised. For us, it’s not just about financial support, but about making projects possible that bring people together and strengthen our region in the long term.
